TELANGANA FORMATION DAY:
Telangana Formation Day is celebrated on the formation of Telangana State on 2 June every year since 2014.The state of Telangana was officially formed on 2 June 2014. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao was elected as the first chief minister of Telangana, following elections in which the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party secured a majority. The formal event of national flag hoisting by the Chief Minister of Telangana and ceremonial parade is held at the parade grounds. Celebrations are held in all the 30 districts of the state. The day marks significance in the state’s history for the sustained Telangana Movement through the years.
SRI AUROBINDO FREEDOM FIGHTER WAS ARRESTED IN MANIK TALA BOMB EXPLOSION CASE:
Sri Aurobindo (born Aurobindo Ghose; 15 August 1872 – 5 December 1950) was an Indian philosopher, yogi, guru, poet, and nationalist. e joined the Indian movement for independence from British rule, for a while was one of its influential leaders and then became a spiritual reformer, introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution.Aurobindo Ghose was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata), Bengal Presidency India. He was arrested in the aftermath of a number of bomb outrages linked to his organisation, but in a highly public trial where he faced charges of treason, Aurobindo could only be convicted and imprisoned for writing articles against British rule in India.
UNION GOVERNMENT SET UP A TRIBUNAL TO SETTLE THE CAUVERY WATER ISSUE BETWEEN TAMIL NADU & KARNATAKA:
The Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT) was constituted by the Government of India on 2nd June 1990 to adjudicate the water dispute regarding inter‐state river Cauvery and the river valley thereof among the States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puduchery. Cauvery is an inter‐State basin having its origin Karnataka and flowing through Tamil Nadu and Puduchery before out falling in Bay of Bengal. The total catchment of the Cauvery basin is 81,155 sq km of which the catchment of the river in Karnataka is about 34,273 sq km that in Kerala is about 2,866 sq km and the remaining area of 44,016 sq. km in Tamil Nadu and Puduchery.
ILAIYARAAJA IS AN INDIAN FILM COMPOSER, SINGER WAS BORN:
Ilaiyaraaja was born as Gnanathesikan in 2 june 1943 in Pannaipuram, Theni district, Tamil Nadu, India. Ilaiyaraaja joined Dhanraj Master as a student to learn musical instruments and the master renamed and called him just “Raaja”. In his first movie Annakili, Tamil film producer Panchu Arunachalam added “Ilaiya” as a prefix in his name Raaja, and he named him as “Ilaiyaraaja”, because in the 1970s there was one more music director A. M. Rajah. in Tamil and other languages including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi and English. he has composed more than 7,000 songs, provided film scores for more than 1,000 movies and performed in more than 20,000 concerts. Ilaiyaraaja is nicknamed Isaignani (The musical genius in English) and often referred to as Maestro, the prestigious title conferred by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London.
SRI RAM SHARMA ACHARYA FREEDOM FIGHTER PASSED AWAY:
Shriram Sharma (20 September 1911– 2 June 1990) was a social reformer, a philosopher, and founder of “All World Gayatri Pariwar”, which has its headquarters at Shantikunj, Haridwar, India. He is known as Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya by the members of the Gayatri Pariwar. He was born in Aanwalkheda village, near Agra in Uttar Pradesh, India. He pioneered the revival of spirituality and creative integration of the modern and ancient sciences and religion.
DEVENDRA MOHAN BOSE, FAMOUS SCIENTIST OF PHYSICS, PASSED AWAY:
Debendra Mohan Bose (26 November 1885 – 2 June 1975) was an Indian physicist who made well-known contributions in the field of cosmic rays, artificial radioactivity and neutron physics. He was the longest serving Director (1938–1967) of Bose Institute. Debendra Mohan Bose was born in Calcutta in a famous Brahmo family. He was the youngest son of Mohini Mohan Bose, one of the first Indians to proceed to U.S.A to qualify himself in homeopathy. Ananda Mohan Bose was his paternal uncle, while Jagadish Chandra Bose was his maternal uncle. He was the longest serving Director (1938–1967) of Bose Institute.He served as the President of the Indian Science News Association, and was the editor of its journal Science and Culture for about 25 years. He also served as the treasurer of the Visva-Bharati University.
RAJ KAPOOR FAMOUS FILM ACTOR PASSED AWAY (14 DECEMBER 1924 – 2 JUNE 1988):
Raj Kapoor was born into a Khatri Punjabi Hindu family in 1924 at Kapoor Haveli (The Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar, in modern-day Pakistan). He was the eldest of six children in the family. Kapoor is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors and filmmakers in the history of Hindi cinema. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1971. India’s highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, was bestowed on him in 1987 by the Government of India.
DINESH GOSWAMI FORMER LAW MINISTER PASSED AWAY:
Dinesh Goswami was born on 27 May 1935 Pakasatra , Kamrup District Assam ,British India. He was an Indian politician. He was the Law Minister and Justice under the V.P.Singh government in 1989. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India from the Gauhati constituency in 1985.He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha from Assam. He was killed in a car accident on 2 June 1991, in his home state of Assam.
